One on One Pet Services opened in 1992 as a dog training and placement service. We served as a resource for local animal shelters and rescues when they were faced with overcrowding and low placement. By beginning our “foster kid’s” training we found they had a better chance at finding forever homes. Through the success of our training program we soon began offering our services to pet owners and rehabilitating shelter/rescue dogs that were previously unadoptable, based on their specific behavior issues.
We provide dog training solutions and behavior modification programs for dog aggression, separation anxiety, fears, phobias, hyperactivity, and more. Behavior modification is very specialized and should only be taught by knowledgeable canine behaviorists. It has been our mission to help dogs and their people overcome even the toughest of behavior obstacles with a gentle psychology based approach. By offering classes in home, at our training facility (Northern Minnesota), via internet conferencing, and various clinics, it is our hope there comes a day when dogs are not unnecessarily euthanized, when help is available.
After an in-depth consultation, we will build a behavior treatment plan and make it simple to understand and easy to practice. We first teach you to identify when your dog is “stress building” and how to redirect his/her anxiety before it escalates. From there, we teach you how to reduce their stress, anxiety, aggression, or fear while implementing successful desensitizing and impulse control techniques. With practice, praise, and patience you will see your dog replacing aggressive responses with a pleasant one, so you too can have a dog with “social graces.”
When you know what makes dogs do what they do, solutions come quick, easy, and fun!
